The Great Commission is not an option to be considered…
\nIt is a command to be obeyed!<\/div><\/div>\n

“Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest” (John 4:35b<\/em>)<\/center><\/p>\n

Philosophy
\n<\/strong>It has been stated that the \u201cGreat Commission<\/em>\u201d is the final command of the Lord Jesus to the church.\u00a0 Or, it has also been stated that it is the \u201cmarching orders of the church.\u201d\u00a0 However, both statements are not biblically accurate.\u00a0 When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He was speaking to the disciples or, more accurately, believers.\u00a0 They were men who had forsaken all and committed themselves to following Christ.\u00a0 When He spoke those words, He was speaking to men.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, when we say Christ gave the Great Commission to the church, we institutionalize the command itself.\u00a0 Although the church is an organism (i.e., the body of Christ), and not an institution, the modern day believer is taught that the \u201cchurch\u201d is to fulfill the command of Christ.\u00a0 We appear to have forgotten that it is individual believers who comprise the church.\u00a0 Therefore, it is the responsibility of believers to carry on the work assigned to those who would believe.<\/p>\n

\u00a0As a body of believers (i.e., a local church), Fishermen Baptist Church seeks to train believers in reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 This training involves\u2026<\/p>\n
