Fishermen Baptist Church started in March 1989 under Founder/Pastor Wayne Mund at the facilities of Aquila Seafood in Bon Secour, Alabama (see the first Sunday invite below). Soon the church purchased a vacated net shop on the banks of the Bon Secour River and converted into a church building. Fitting as once a place of mending nets, God brought forth a work of mending lives.
Pastor Mund led the church until January 2018 when he stepped down to concentrate on Fishers of Men Ministries. Brother Shawn Major served in the church as assistant pastor and co-pastor since 2006 and the assumed the pastorate in January 2018.
The heart of FBC has been and continues to be reaching the lost both “Around the Corner and Around the World”.
